Earlier this year, Alitex was approached by The National Trust
to design and build a range of greenhouses. Already suppliers
of greenhouses to some National Trust gardens, Alitex have
now entered into a partnership to produce National Trust
Greenhouses for the public.
The National Trust were keen to work with Alitex as they believe
that Alitex combines traditional design and detailing with
innovative engineering. The National Trust Greenhouses will be
constructed in powder-coated aluminium (for strength, structure
and longevity), with typical finishing flourishes such as ornate
spandrels, timber-moulded glazing bars, and cast-aluminium
benches. The steeply-pitched roof and low eaves are characteristic
of original structures; beyond looking beautiful, this design
improves both ventilation and the growing environment.
The National Trust Greenhouse will be available in three sizes, from the pretty little 2.6m x 3m structure (shown in the photo) to a 3m x 5m greenhouse.
Each design will be offered in a range of six heritage colours, including Old White, which is currently the most popular choice for greenhouses. As with
all Alitex structures, the National Trust Greenhouses will have a full lifetime guarantee. The National Trust and Alitex share the same ideals: heritage
and beauty, both of which are at the forefront of all Alitex designs.
This greenhouse will be the obvious choice for gardeners looking for the most beautifully made traditional structure that is easy to look after. Sizergh
